ABOUT

ME

Life’s circumstances have provided me with the unique advantage of exceptional experiences and the ability to help others, which lead me to choose the path of becoming a psychotherapist.  I practice primarily as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, although I hold the additional credentials as a master’s level Certified Addictions Treatment Counselor.

While I have various areas of expertise, I specialize in child and adolescent development, anxiety and depressive disorders, trauma, divorce, grief and loss, addiction, and dual diagnoses.  My preferred approaches to utilize are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), although I also incorporate Motivational Interviewing.  These modalities are advantageous in helping you or your loved one understand the connection between addiction and other underlying mental health issues that may be contributing to substance abuse or other difficulties preventing you from effectively navigating a life worth living.

Additionally, I specialize in treating trauma which often exacerbates addiction and other mental health issues.  My clients find great benefit and relief from incorporating Attachment-Focused EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).  This practice assists individuals in processing through traumatic events and gaining the ability to move forward despite the adversity they may have experienced.

Passionate About Helping Others

Within the therapeutic setting, I provide a safe and supportive environment for clients to gain insight and work through the circumstances that have brought them to treatment.  My goal is to help you or your loved one persevere, despite the detrimental effects of addiction and personal struggles; guiding you towards a life of happiness, health, and satisfaction in sobriety.

As a born and bred New Yorker, my clients tend to appreciate the honesty and “tell it like it is” mentality I adhere to.  I moved to Los Angeles several years ago to take advantage of the Golden State and advance my education and career.  In addition to my Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University Los Angeles, I am currently pursuing a Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology at California Southern University.
